Friday March 21st - The Trip at Sub Club

To kick off our 2025 residency at Sub Club it's time to go big or go home! The Trip is the DJ and production project by Max van Dijk and Oli Hiam, the founders of the London based record label and party Tessellate who have been putting on groundbreaking parties since 2013.

Now seven records deep in original material, The Trip continues to gain momentum, having released Fantasy Traxx and Uncovered in 2024. Job Jobse featured five tracks from the former in his summer mix, citing it as his inspiration and starting point. Their music has become a staple for a broad range of DJs including Palms Trax, Moxie, Avalon Emerson, Shanti Celeste, Sally C, Eliza Rose, and Pangea. They have also received significant airtime on BBC Radio 1, with Sarah Story dubbing The Trip the “DJ’s Producer”. Off the back of their sell out All Night Long show in London at the end of 2024, the future promises an exciting mix of original and collaborative releases, alongside an increasingly busy local and international calendar.

We are delighted to have residents Robbie and Carmen joining the line up. Join us as they make a splash with their first Friday night in the Sub Club injecting the house music and big energy Breathe have become known for. You already know what to expect!

Brand Story

Founded by Jamie Gunn and Robbie McGrory, at the time two budding DJs and now established, in demand artists in their own right. Fueled by passion and a shared love for electronic music, Breathe embarked on its odyssey across Glasgow’s vibrant music scene. Starting humbly, the duo envisioned more than just parties; they aimed to create experiences that echoed the heartbeat and diversity of the city itself.

From its genesis, Breathe captured attention, hosting groove-infused, sold-out parties in iconic Glasgow venues like Stereo, La Cheetah, The Berkeley Suite, and Broadcast. Their magnetic parties quickly evolved into magnetic residencies and earned headline slots at revered Cab Vol in Edinburgh, alongside celebrated bookings at festivals like Otherlands and Cultivate.

Jamie Gunn’s vision, as Director of Promotion and Programming has brought new life into the already vibrant Scottish scene by curating lineups that resonated with aficionados and newcomers alike. His discerning eye and passion catapulted the brand into the limelight, attracting highly sought-after international talents while nurturing and launching the careers of numerous local DJs.

With the addition of Jacko, the Director of Operations and Marketing, Breathe took on a new form. Armed with a fervent belief in design and branding as well as a desire to do right by the artist, Jacko fuelled the brand’s aesthetic evolution, marketing and community engagment adding fuel to an already brightly burning fire. Building a team as passionate and energetic as they were professional, Breathe became a convergence of creativity and meticulousness. Behind the scenes, you are just as likely to catch the team burning the midnight oil at the office as you are the afterparty.

Breathe embodies the classic spirit of Glasgow’s electronic music scene, while continually pushing the envelope, writing its own chapter in the city’s already storied history.
